With the knowledge of the elevator shaft’s existence (as well as LE collection of its parts as evidence) I now cannot help but wonder what role it had to play in the crime. Lou (or whomever filmed it) referred to it as “some sort of storage area.” I’m wondering if that’s what they had as well and it was that door that was cut into

Ours is newer and nicer than the one in the Ramsey house but we have the same type of heavy metal door, metal shaft, and one of those “accordion” doors we pull to close after the elevator door shuts. There are 3 floors and we occasionally have patients with physical limitations, so we have an elevator. I work at a rehab/detox center that is in a 26,000 square foot house. my guess is the actual closing door inside the elevator once inside is what they took for evidence.

The outside door was still there and I could understand what they meant by it automatically locking after seeing the hinge. I noticed the spring metal hinge on the inside of the door and the steel shaft inside, with electrical wire hanging down. The house was completely empty of furniture so I’m not certain what the date was. Maybe it wasn’t him but it definitely sounded like him. It was clearly an elevator shaft yet He didn’t seem to know that it was. I did watch on Youtube what sounded like Lou Smit, videoing every inch of the house and I did see the elevator shaft on that video. IMO that is the knife that was used to cut the length of cord in half There was another knife - a kitchen paring knife that was found (out of place) on a counter top in the laundry room outside of JonBenet’s bedroom. The red knife that was found had a broken of purple ornament that was found beside itīut, when I think about it, whomever strangled her must’ve had a knife to cut the chord found around her neck and arms. That knife was never found by crime scene techs so it was never taken up in evidence. Burke’s pocket knife was a red Swiss Army knife with his name on it. I know it is stated in PMPT that is was but it came out in Steve Thomas’ depo that it was actually found on a counter top in room somewhere in the basement (?the hallway). I think the information that the red pocket knife was found near JonBenet’s body is wrong. I also had no clue they found a red knife by her body but yes, the CORA files said that this particular knife was found in the wine cellar not far from JB’s body. Or if there were 2 perps, one got the hell out of dodge and said “deuces” to his buddy stuck in an elevator shaft. I don’t know if it’s because John and Fleet didn’t see the marks on the frame and lock earlier yet did later? But good God that’s terrifying to think he may have still be in that damn house when they were all there. He clearly must’ve tried hiding in there but got stuck ( i’m sorry, this whole story is tragic but that part makes me laugh my ass Off, “help? Anyone? Im stuck in here.” Lol).įor some reason, they believe he was in there around 10 a.m. So whomever killed her, may have understood the basic layout of the house but clearly didn’t know that that elevator shaft was not a closet or storage room. They believed a red knife was used to pry it open because a broken red knife was found in the same room as JB’s body. the morning of the 26th, John and Fleet White noticed fresh pry marks on the inside of the door showing someone had gotten themselves locked inside. They had the shaft and elevator door freshly painted right before Christmas but around 10 a.m.

The basement shaft door was steel and would lock behind anyone so that they could not open it up again if the elevator were above and get hurt. They took the steal shaft out of floors 1-3 but it was too costly to take it out of the basement so they left it there. The elevator was indeed in the center of the house and when John Ramsey saw it ( I guess Patsy came out to Boulder sooner to find their home) he insisted it go because it was tearing up floors and he said, “it was literally center of the house, there was no way around it.” Im just copying and pasting what I wrote under the original post so it wouldn’t get buried because I find this mighty damn interesting.
